Fogo Island Arts Publication

Fogo Island Arts commissioned a publication documenting five years of their international artist residency program. The brief called for a design that honored the rugged landscape of Newfoundland while showcasing the diverse practices of resident artists.

We developed a grid system inspired by the island's distinctive architecture — angular, precise, yet responsive to the terrain. Typography alternates between a sharp grotesque for artist statements and a warm serif for curatorial essays. Full-bleed photography is balanced with generous margins and considered whitespace.

The publication has been recognized for its craft and clarity, serving as both an archive and a tool for future programming.
